The Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club assists the National Park Service by building and maintaining the designated trails in a manner that is environmentally friendly and consistent with the overall mission of the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park; to increase public awareness as to the best ways to set up and maintain the trails and the
importance of staying on the trails; and to work collaboratively with the National Park Service and
community leaders and organizations to preserve and develop Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.

Our Vision-

Our corporate vision is to grow and develop into a full fledged "Friends of the Park" organization to play a significant role in the federal government effort encourage greater community involvement in the maintenance and support of our public lands.

Programmes and Activities-

We support 3 primary activities as of November 2008.
First and Foremost is Trail Maintenance of the 21+ miles of trails at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. The club provides +/- 4,000 hours of volunteer service to the park annually in addition to participating in special projects in the form of NPS Challenge Grants.
Secondly we have an active youth leadership project program (i.e. Boy Scout Eagle Scout Leadership Projects) that encourages and supports young people looking for volunteer service opportunities in the community
Our newest effort is a Visitor Host Program called Trail Ambassador's to greet visitor's to the park provide assistance and guidance, encourage minimum impact visitation (i.e. Leave No Trace)practices, and assist park rangers with identification of issues requiring maintenance, or law enforcement intervention.
